We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Coordinator role in a Retail Luxury Goods and Jewelry company based in London. The firm creates high-end items for men and women with a distinct design aesthetic. The Shipping Coordinator will oversee all shipping to and from many countries. This is a hands-on position that requires you to complete the relevant paperwork and communicates with freight forwarders and internal departments in order to provide excellent customer service while adhering to current Brexit requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience working in an Export/Import function for a multinational company with a London HQ.
- Proficiency with imports from China and the Far East, as well as shipping to Europe and the United States, utilising the proper codes and customs papers.
- Excellent knowledge of Brexit shipping legislation, as well as the UK and foreign export/import processes.
- Employed in a stand-alone shipping position, where was responsible for importing and exporting items according to strict guidelines and timelines.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related field is preferred.
- Must be able to multitask, prioritise, and work independently to meet the deadline.
- Colleague and client-focused team player.
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- Mandarin or Cantonese fluency is an asset.
- Logical thinker with great organisational abilities.
- Ability to operate under duress in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
- Excellent MS Office abilities and familiarity with a custom-built in-house system.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinating the air, land, and sea freight shipment of wholesale and eCommerce client orders to defined locations across the world.
- Organizing all shipments to go through the in-house system and be dispatched with proper paperwork.
- Assuring that the company complies with Brexit requirements and stays up to speed on any legislative changes, ensuring that the appropriate tariff codes are applied.
- Monitoring shipping expenses to guarantee that the corporation spends as little as possible.
- Obtaining quotes from freight forwarders and coordinating collections.
- Completing essential papers to aid items in transportation and ensure that client orders arrive on schedule.
- Creating and reviewing invoices.
- Proactively coordinating shipment information, dispatch notes, and last-minute inquiries with coworkers and external clients.
