We have an exciting opportunity for a Major Gifts Officer role in a Seattle-based Hospital and Health Care company. It is a bilingual, non-profit health and social services organization that caters to the special dietary and cultural requirements of Asian elders. As a member of the Development group, the Major Gifts Officer is responsible for developing and leading the major gifts fundraising program, as well as serving as the primary contact in charge of cultivating new and continuing corporate sponsors for special events.
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in a field related to nonprofits or three years of equivalent experience is required.
- Fundraising expertise spanning three years.
- Chinese bilingualism is preferred.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Strong understanding of current fundraising procedures, as well as practice and/or a willingness to learn quickly.
- Demonstrated capacity to gain the respect and confidence of a wide range of coworkers and leaders by acting as a trusted confidant.
- Ability to persuade people at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional professionalism and the capacity to strike a balance between haste and decisiveness and patience and compassion.
- Outstanding presence, respect for others, and effective listening skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, an open mind, and a quick thinker.
- Strong organizational abilities, business acumen, including strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity for critical thought and analysis with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate information clearly and respond to inquiries from individuals, students, staff, managers, clients, and members of the public.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a focus on finishing tasks on time.

Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Establishing and running the major gifts program, collaborating with the director of philanthropy to plan and carry out initiatives for major gifts fundraising that is results-oriented.
- Organizing the regular operations and efforts of the major gifts program and strategically developing an approach plan for donors who can make contributions of $1000 or more.
- Identification, cultivation, engagement, and stewardship of relationships with current and prospective individual major donors.
- Managing a portfolio of 100-125 major donor prospects.
- Making and recording between 100 and 125 strategic cultivation, solicitation, or stewardship visits and/or connection points annually with key donors and prospects.
- Putting together the necessary documents, such as gift agreements and other written proposals, to define, secure, and record major gifts.
- Identifying and managing upselling opportunities.
- Organise corporate partners' written requests for grants or sponsorships.
- Developing marketing benefits for sponsorship packages in collaboration with internal staff and event committees.
- Serving as the internal point of contact/liaison for all sponsor-related activities or needs, ensuring that all marketing benefits are delivered to the highest standard.
- Assist in collaborating with key stakeholders, including customers, the government, suppliers, the board of directors, the staff, the community, opponents, volunteers, partners, and donors.
- Other tasks as assigned.
