We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer role in a Nottingham-baed Retail company. The company is the UK's biggest provider of the fuel and retail store sectors, with thousands of outlets receiving full marketing and logistical assistance. The Junior Buyer it seeks to hire will play an active position in the company, collaborating closely with the buying team to establish the brand's identity.

Job Requirements:

  • Mandarin and English are native or proficient (spoken and written).
  • Proven purchasing skills in a fast-paced setting.
  • It is preferable to have 4 years of purchasing experience with 2 years of retail experience.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Collaboration experience with vendors in the UK, Europe, and the Far East.
  • Understanding of the product development process.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational abilities, as well as the ability to form strong bonds with coworkers and vendors.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the competitive market.
  • Strong arithmetic and analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a "can-do" attitude are all required.
  • Capable of planning, prioritizing, and focusing on issues, as well as being inquisitive and logical in delivering real solutions.
  • Confident in handling suppliers at all levels, as well as Purchasing Assistants when needed.
  • A keen business sense.
  • Computer literate (Excel proficiency essential)

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the purchasing team with day-to-day product purchase needs.
  • Generate Purchase Orders.
  • Ascertaining that orders are placed promptly to fulfill supplier/production timeframes.
  • Keeping the purchasing team and other key departments informed.
  • Reconciliation of stock.
  • Coordinate with internal and external sites to meet material requests.
  • To give correct pre-bid costings, communicate with the estimating team.
  • Assist the buy ledger/finance staff with invoicing issues and disputes.
  • Report cost adjustments accurately in accordance with budgets and timelines.
  • Any such ad hoc tasks that are required and are within your skills.
