We have an exciting opportunity for an Underwriting Graduate programme in an Insurance company based in London. The company is a prominent specialist reinsurance organisation that works with brokers, coverholders, and customers to safeguard and support business operations worldwide. The organisation is looking for rational, critical communicators to join the underwriting professional graduate programme.

Job Requirements:

A degree with a minimum of 2:2.
Excellent numerical abilities.
3 or more A-Levels, preferably in Maths (A-C), GCSE Maths, and grade B in English.
Excellent IT abilities, especially MS Excel.
Legally authorised to work in the UK.
Can cope with sophisticated analytical data.
Capable of communicating properly and clearly.
Organized, rational, driven, and attentive to detail.
Business-minded.
Willing to study for the Senior Insurance Professional apprenticeship standard - level 6 (covering ACII).
Capable of working well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

Examine insurance applications for conformity and conformance.
Determine underwriting options under supervision, provide bids for competitive insurance rates, and negotiate and establish the particular conditions of insurance contracts.
Keep meticulous records of all policies drafted and judgments made.
Balance between mass and homogeneity of risks to achieve predictability of future results.
Create and keep a successful book of business for the insurance.
Obey all appropriate insurance laws.
