We have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant role in a Leicestershire based Consumer Goods company. The firm is a very successful international corporation that focuses on licencing and provides the highest quality photographs to its clients. It collaborates with several intriguing mainstream companies, as well as creating, producing, and manufacturing a wide selection of gifts, stationery, and artwork in the UK and globally. The Purchasing Assistant will collaborate closely with senior personnel of the Procurement team and the China office. Handling out administrative activities and processes to assist the Operations, Sourcing, and Sales teams, as well as utilising corporate systems to keep the firm up to date, ensuring that individual licensors' sample and production needs are met. Because the work requires frequent interaction with suppliers in the United Kingdom and China, good written and verbal communication skills are required.

Job Requirements:

•    It is necessary to have a minimum of 2 years of buying experience.
•    Purchasing experience in the Far East.
•    Self-motivated individual with a professional attitude.
•    Effective interpersonal skills are required to maintain open channels of communication with multiple stakeholders.
•    Creative and capable of working on own initiative.
•    Reliable and adaptable in approach.
•    Excellent negotiating abilities.
•    Microsoft Office proficiency.
•    Excellent problem-solving abilities.
 

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

•    Negotiate and settle on pricing in order to meet the budget objectives established.
•    Coordination between Sales and other departments is required to ensure that stock levels are optimised to satisfy sales demand while minimising ageing stock.
•    Generate and track PO with vendors, adhering to key routes established by the Senior team.
•    Assist in the planning of purchases for various categories within the team.
•    Help with common inquiries that come into the office.
•    Coordinate payments and submit supporting documentation.
•    Assist product design by arranging samples and keeping an up-to-date log of all samples received by the company.
•    Assist with the maintenance of computer systems, including the creation of product codes, the resolution of problems, and the update of internal systems to benefit the larger organisation.
•    Conduct daily / weekly inventory reports to plan future purchases.
•    Enhance the requirement forecasting process continuously to guarantee that inventory levels satisfy demand while minimising waste, and synchronizing demands throughout all departments.
 

This is a full-time, permanent position that requires 37.5 hours per week. The position will be office-based, with standard working hours of 9.00 a.m. – 5.30 p.m., Monday - Friday, with a one-hour unpaid break each day.
