We have an exciting opportunity for an  Assistant for Purchase and Product Development for a Surrey-based Designer Product Manufacturer. They are looking for a full-time (English and Chinese speaker) individual to join the friendly and dynamic team. Reporting to the Managing Director, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing new product developments and planning product purchases from various Chinese manufacturers.

Job Requirements:

  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Ideally, experience in graphic design, photo editing, and video production.
  • Preferably, familiar with online and social media platforms.
  • Preferably, knowledgeable about SAGE software.
  • Excellent coordination and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient in project management, including planning, kickoff, execution, Gantt charts, and reporting.
  • Capable of conducting pleasant, professional, and friendly conversations with all parties.
  • Communicates, organized, and efficiently.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of new and custom products.
  • Liaise with customers in English and Chinese manufacturers.
  • Follow a workflow to ensure custom products are developed on time and with high quality.
  • Initiate projects by filling out the project register and organizing meetings or emails with involved parties.
  • Liaise with customers to approve visual mock-ups of bespoke products.
  • Work with the designers and end users to finalize fabric artwork.
  • Coordinate with Chinese manufacturers to complete the sampling process and obtain final customer approvals.
  • Collaborate with various parties to create new package designs specific to the new products, including labels and packing methods.
  • Oversee the final production process, manage progress, adjust completion dates, and communicate with clients until production is complete.
  • Provide on-demand support to the Managing Director (MD), including assisting with daily operations and other tasks as required.
  • Create a stock clearance list by comparing the stock report with the sales report.
  • List products on various online platforms.
  • Assist the MD in maintaining social media platforms.
  • Evaluate inventory levels and place orders with different manufacturers in China.
  • Prepare inventory reports and identify stock deficiencies.
  • Create purchase orders and manage the process until the stock is delivered to the UK warehouse.
  • Track progress, adjust deadlines, and work with staff to get shipment dates.
  • Receive inventory at the warehouse.
