We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in a UK-based Financial Technology Company. They are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join the team. This role, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, will be crucial in managing diverse financial functions. Responsibilities include providing and interpreting accurate and timely financial performance data for key stakeholders, preparing budgets and forecasts, and overseeing cash flow management and reporting.
Job Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 5 years in accounting or finance positions.
- Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Excellent written, and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic mindset with the capability to contribute across all levels.
- Confidence to provide financial support to various business areas and drive initiatives.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Integrity and reliability.
- High-level analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in English is essential; Mandarin is a plus.
- Financial sector experience is beneficial but not required.
- On-site work is mandatory.
- Familiarity with Xero is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Certified with CIMA, ICAEW, or ACCA.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Month-End Reporting: Supervise activities, including managing general ledger transactions, adjustments, and reconciliations.
- Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts.
- Financial Planning: Compile financial reports, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance.
- Financial Reporting: Create and maintain an integrated financial performance report, analyzing trends and forecasts.
- Financial Support: Offer financial guidance and support to management and business stakeholders.
- Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Ledger Oversight: Manage accruals, prepayments, and aspects of the purchase/sales ledger.
- Trade Monitoring: Ensure daily trades are monitored and reconciled for accuracy and compliance.
- Policy Development: Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Data Reconciliation: Verify and reconcile financial data for accuracy and adherence to established policies.
- Cost Control: Identify areas for cost control and improvements through financial analysis.
- Process Improvement: Lead efforts to enhance financial processes and reporting for better efficiency and opportunities.
- Stakeholder Support: Advise and support business stakeholders on financial processes.
- Issue Identification: Identify problem areas and provide recommendations to management.
- Additional Duties: Perform various other ad hoc tasks as required in this dynamic role.
