We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager - NPD role in a US-based Motor Vehicle Manufacturing company. The Project Manager for New Product Development (NPD) plays a crucial role in overseeing our NPD projects to ensure they align with established development objectives and stay on track. In this position, the individual will serve as the primary communicator and technical bridge connecting various teams, including technical, design, and product staff, to ensure the timely fulfillment of project deliverables. Fluency in both Mandarin and English, with a strong grasp of technical terminology in each language, is a prerequisite for this role.

Job Requirements:

A degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, with a strong emphasis on product development.
Over 5 years of prior experience in a similar role, ideally in the Powersports, Automotive, or a related industry.
An ideal candidate would also have a background in Powersports, motorsports, or a related field, with specific experience in ATV, UTV, and/or motorcycles being particularly advantageous.
Experience in the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) sector is highly desirable.
Proficiency in both Mandarin and English is preferred, particularly in translating technical engineering documents and facilitating verbal communication among New Product Development (NPD) teams.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work independently while also demonstrating effective teamwork and collaboration.
Proficient project management skills, particularly in a technical context, including scheduling and adherence.
Expertise in utilizing software such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, and familiarity with the Stage-Gate methodology.
Experience with MS Office 365 and its collaborative tools.
A strong customer-centric approach and service orientation, enabling effective interaction with colleagues and vendors from diverse backgrounds.
Expected domestic travel up to 20%, with occasional international trips to destinations like China or other necessary locations.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

Serves as the primary project coordinator and communicator for New Product Development vehicle programs, working closely with the U.S.-based development facility and the R&D group in China.
Manages and maintains accurate project schedules for multiple concurrent projects, fostering effective communication among project team members and driving them to achieve the anticipated outcomes.
Actively participates in product meetings and contributes innovative ideas geared towards creating top-quality products for the future.
Ideally, offers bilingual communication support for technical engineering discussions and the translation of critical project-related documents.
Excels in prioritizing workloads and communication, enhancing cross-departmental operational efficiency, and maintaining transparent project status updates for all team members.
Collaborates with product management, engineering, and the research team to continuously integrate customer-oriented inputs into project deliverables.
Keeps meticulous records of project status and communicates weekly deliverables to project participants.
Coordinates with the Parts, Garments, and Accessories (PG&A) department to align accessory project schedules and development projects with overall program deliverables.
Adheres to established standard operating procedures and upholds all health and safety guidelines.
Ensures a clean and secure working environment.
Performs any other necessary duties as assigned.
