We have an exciting opportunity for a Translator role in a London-based startup. They are looking for a professional Translator who will be responsible for listening, understanding and translating written statements into Chinese for the director.
Job Requirements :
• Fluency in both Chinese and English languages, in writing and speaking is required.
• Extensive knowledge of business terminology and the ability to accurately translate complex concepts is required.
• A bachelor's degree in translation, interpreting, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to bridge language and cultural gaps effectively.
• Strong proofreading skills, including the ability to spot grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors are required.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• A solid understanding of content editing tools is a must.
• Must have a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Additional certification in Linguistics is a plus.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities :
- Assisting the Managing Director and English-speaking stakeholders with real-time translation services during meetings and daily communication.
- Maintaining terminology accuracy and consistency in translations to ensure cultural nuances and context are properly conveyed.
- Translating written documents from Chinese to English and vice versa, such as business plans, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- Conducting research and collecting pertinent information to assist with translation tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
