We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant/Junior Accountant role for an Oil & Energy company based in London. This position is in charge of financial accounting for the intricate trading activities of the UK in line with the group's accounting standards and all applicable rules, laws, and reporting standards. This is a trading firm that has built commercial ties in many nations and areas and is among the world's largest oil dealers.

Job Requirements:

Strong understanding of global/UK accounting principles and practises, particularly hedge accounting.
A bachelor's degree is required.
The candidate must have majored in accounting or practiced accounting in China.
CPA, ACA, or ACCA qualification, or equivalent.
Mandarin proficiency is required.
Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
Being able to work autonomously and under pressure during peak times.
Ability to solve problems and make decisions about accounting-related matters using professional judgement.
Must be an excellent team player.
At least 2 years of experience in a relevant accounting position.
It is crucial to be familiar with the oil business and trade environment.
understanding of good financial habits.
The ability to process huge volumes of data and knowledge of SAP / ERP is desired.
A solid understanding of accounting standards.
Preferably, big four working experience.
Useful if the applicant has experience working in an FSA-regulated setting.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

Routine bookkeeping.
Generating monthly financial reports and statutory accounts in accordance with local GAAP.
Statistical analysis and balance sheet reconciliation as part of financial control.
Budgeting and annual and weekly financial review.
Assessments of the financial position and management reporting to headquarters.
Take part in a project to integrate IT.
Coordinate with local tax professionals and auditors.
Participate in ad hoc initiatives within the Finance team.
