We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Design Engineer in a UK-based Electronics Manufacturing company. It is an innovative and leading force in the design, manufacturing, and supply of decorative lighting for the worldwide hospitality industry. They are looking for an experienced Graduate Design Engineer to join the team.
Job Requirements:
- Basic Adobe software experience.
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM.
- Understanding of manufacturing methods; sheet steel, welding, machining.
- Basic electrical knowledge of lighting and or LED’s.
- Confident in designing to manufacturing tolerancing.
- Graphic design background.
- PowerPoint knowledge.
- Familiarity with fundamental Adobe software.
- Proficient in using SolidWorks PDM.
- Knowledgeable about various manufacturing methods, including sheet steel, welding, and machining.
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts, particularly in lighting and LED applications.
- Confidence in designing within manufacturing tolerances.
- Background in graphic design.
- Competence in using PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Designing lighting products utilizing 3D design software, specifically SolidWorks.
- Creating product renderings, and supporting engineering drawings using Keyshot.
- Innovating new products within the established Chelsom brand.
- Maintaining regular communication with both commercial and technical teams to ensure product alignment.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, providing design and engineering support.
- Taking charge of the entire product design process, from initial client sketch to production.
- Assisting in manufacturing decisions to meet customer requirements.
- Collaborating with suppliers on custom designs.
- Participating in product testing, installation tests, and risk reviews.
- Assisting the Marketing team in producing relevant marketing materials.
- Working within a multidisciplinary projects team, including members from sales, technical, purchasing, manufacturing, and commercial departments, to deliver timely solutions for various project requirements.
