We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer role in a Renewable Energy Equipment Manufacturing company based in California. Through a nationwide network of roofer partners, the company is revolutionizing the solar and roofing industries by producing energy from every roof and providing homeowners with stylish, roof-integrated solar alternatives. It is looking for an equipment engineer who will assist in setting up, maintaining, and improving process machinery to create the following BIPV product generation.
Job Requirements:
- Electrical, electronic, mechanical, or equivalent engineering degree with a BS/MS preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years experience working as an equipment or maintenance engineer.
- Experience leading small teams and establishing goals and priorities.
- Knowledge and skills in researching, evaluating, ordering, installing, maintaining, and/or upgrading various types of equipment, tools, or tool sets.
- The ability to bring up new tools and work with equipment suppliers is a plus.
- AutoCAD or equivalent application proficiency is required.
- Ability to create schematics or drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or a similar software program.
- Understand the Tool Tracking System.
- Proven knowledge of BOMs, manufacturing, process design, and quality improvement methodologies.
- A track record of success in ramping up and expanding manufacturing.
- Capability to interact effectively and clearly with internal and external functional teams orally, in writing, and through presentations.
- Excellent time management skills, as well as impeccable attention to detail.
- Follow company policies and safety regulations.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and productive.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Investigate, evaluate, and recommend the use of tools in an assigned area that increases yield and reduces operational costs.
- Develop and assess process tools and equipment in cooperation with internal teams and vendors.
- Plan design and qualification tasks in collaboration with equipment suppliers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the creation of equipment POs, logistics, and installation.
- Produce maintenance guidelines for the machinery, and educate the production team.
- Coordination, tracking, and prioritization of tool maintenance to ensure maximum tool uptime; assure that all tools are maintained by the agreed schedule and specifications.
- Study and adhere to guides, diagrams, and schematics for equipment operations, repairs, and upkeep.
- Respond quickly to equipment and tool issues to solve issues and minimize idle time.
- Create a list of replacement parts and recovery strategies for tools.
- Investigate and put corrective measures in place to avoid repeat breakdowns.
- Ensure that crucial process parameters are under control, and maximize the process's potential.
- Validate and characterize new tools and machinery for use in production.
- Run root cause analyses on important issues, eventually quickly fix problems.
- Improve workflow and process by leading or taking part in related activities.
- Create initiatives to reduce costs by utilizing resources and materials properly.
- Other tasks as assigned.
