We have an exciting opportunity for a Bilingual Family Law Attorney in a California-based Law P+
+96+ractice firm. It is a boutique law firm with expertise in family law, civil and commercial litigation, estate planning, and intellectual property. They are looking to hire an experienced family law attorney who will represent a wide range of clients in all proceedings, offer legal advice, and create legal paperwork.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of a Juris Doctorate Degree or the equivalent, as permitted by the State Bar Act.
- Experience in family law for at least 2 years.
- A proven track record of integrity and a lack of any prior infractions as an attorney or in any other capacity.
- Ability to function both independently and as a member of an effective team; willingness to go above and beyond - always seeking to improve procedure, efficiency, and support to the business.
- Capable of interacting with all staff and clients respectfully and professionally.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, even when under time constraints and navigating uncertainty and difficulty.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing, colleague/customer-centric environment.
- capable of resolving disputes and, when necessary, defusing tense circumstances.
- Problem solver extraordinaire, capable of creating win-win situations with limited resources.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Clio (or another Case Management Platform), and technological know-how.
- Bilingual in Mandarin and English.
- Must be a current, active member of the State Bar of California.
- Digital dexterity to use a computer and other common office tools.
- Able to commute or relocate.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage in strategy review meetings with clients to comprehend the circumstances and objectives to create a Case Plan for them.
- Create legal pleadings and forms, such as complaints, declarations, requests for discovery, responses, and memoranda.
- Assemble information for cases and conduct research.
- Gathering, preserving, and organizing evidence for all aspects of family law proceedings (trials, motions, mediations, and so on).
- Prepare for and attend trials and contested hearings.
- Take charge of caseloads, and make sure billing is accurate and done promptly.
