We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Purchasing Manager-UK role in a Motor Vehicle Manufacturing company based in Manchester. The firm is a market leader in automotive safety and security, specialising in procurement, sale, and in-vehicle technology installation. The ideal applicant for this position will be a skilled negotiator with experience sourcing security equipment from Chinese and Far Eastern vendors.

Job Requirements:

CIPS or an equivalent qualification.
Excellent procurement and contract managerial skills with at least 3 years of experience.
Excellent understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
Must be based in Manchester.
Knowledge in the manufacturing industry, particularly in telematics, is preferred.
Experience sourcing security equipment from Chinese and Far Eastern vendors.
Have a can-do attitude, good communication skills, and the ability to organise, plan, and manage critical activities.
Excellent negotiating abilities and a keen understanding of the business environment.
A highly motivated and determined individual with a strong analytical approach and a desire to advance.
Qualification in PRINCE2 Project Management is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

Negotiate contracts and submit orders with vendors.
Perform research to identify the most cost-effective items and providers in terms of delivery dates and quality.
Develop supplier strategy in collaboration with Operations.
Work on new initiatives with the Sales and Production departments.
Work with the sales team to compile fresh bids for clients in order to guarantee that the tender process with vendors is completed correctly.
Define and carry out plans to increase QCD performance.
Provide essential Procurement data for the yearly budget and plan process.
Negotiate long-term relationships with major suppliers to reduce risk management.
Assist the company in ensuring compliance requirements, meeting legal obligations, recognising possible risk concerns, and maintaining internal compliance.
Develop and execute new processes, including steps to protect the company's supply chain against modern slavery.
Support the company's flexibility by taking on new responsibilities as needed.
