We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Brand Manager role for a London based retail company. The company is a famous, emotional, and inventive hairbrush brand that has won several awards. It is currently seeking someone well-versed in Asian markets to assist drive marketing efforts and support strategies in its operating nations along with the company's worldwide partners.
Job Requirements:
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English is ideal, but a solid working understanding of both is required.
• Minimum three years working experience in a marketing role for a UK brand (in a similar area) with a primary emphasis on the Chinese market, preferably in the cosmetics or hair business.
• Dealing with Chinese suppliers and developing marketing campaigns that focus on social media and influencers with proven outcomes is a plus. It's critical to have a thorough grasp of China's social media environment.
• Working experience in the Japanese and Korean markets, as well as knowledge of hair segments, trends, and impact in these countries.
• Working with a UK sales department will be advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities, as well as a “can-do” attitude.
• A team player with the capacity to create strong bonds with internal and external departments, as well as worldwide distribution partners.
• Excellent analytic and presenting abilities.
• Understanding of what models and photography are appropriate for different Asian markets, as well as professional experience with UK designers on content and organising photoshoots.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
• Understand the Chinese hair market, covering customer demands, trends, and important changes. Monthly reporting and analysis will be critical to this job, with significant findings being reported back to the business.
• With the help of the Head of Marketing and Global Distributors, design a 3-year new product development strategy, ensuring that new launches are on brand and appropriate for China, Japan, and Korea. It will incorporate packaging and gift package options.
• Together with our worldwide distributors and our marketing and sales personnel, design a successful marketing plan for the company in Asia, assuring that the brand's tone of voice and resources are maintained.
• Build a strategic marketing support strategy for both online and offline platforms, involving social media, influencers, and digital alliances, in collaboration with our Asian distributors (Japan, Korea and China) and Marketing HQ. Within those markets, the social and digital experience is required.
• Design a customised content strategy to promote major web platforms (i.e., Tmall).
• Develop the company's offline presence in collaboration with the sales staff and distributors.
• Build a solid relationship with Japanese, Korean, and Chinese vendors to assist the HQ's functional specialists in driving development. From the HQ marketing department, be the main point of contact for distributors on a daily basis.
• Routine travel to China will be part of the job (quarterly).
