We have an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer role in a Sporting Goods Manufacturing company based in Arizona. The role will be based at the company's supplier location in Tianjin. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join the team.
 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in roles such as Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise in collaborating with suppliers to address quality concerns and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Solid foundation in process optimization, quality control methodologies, and supplier relationship management.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and manufacturing processes, including APQP, FMEA, SPC, and PPAP.
  • Hands-on experience applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for process enhancements.
  • Proficient in conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and managing corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Skilled in supplier audits and performance assessments.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities, with a talent for fostering productive relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, Lean, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
  • Familiarity with quality management system tools.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive Supplier Quality Initiatives: Lead efforts to enhance supplier quality through audits, assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Establish and Oversee SQA Processes: Design, implement, and manage supplier quality assurance (SQA) systems, incorporating risk assessments, FMEA, and control plans.
  • Address Quality Issues: Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for quality concerns and collaborate with suppliers to implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Manage Supplier Documentation: Review and approve supplier quality-related documents, including inspection reports, certifications, and compliance records.
  • Collaborate for Continuous Improvement: Work with suppliers to identify and implement opportunities for enhancing processes, improving quality, and reducing costs.
  • Facilitate Technological Advancements: Assist suppliers in adopting new technologies, advanced manufacturing techniques, and innovative materials.
  • Monitor Supplier Performance: Conduct routine performance reviews and manage supplier scorecards, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates, on-time delivery, and quality metrices.
