We have an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Executive (Retail) role in a Food and Beverage company based in Nottingham. The Company is one of the UK's leading importers and distributors of Asian and Far Eastern foods, supplying a diverse range of markets, including Chinese restaurants and takeaways, wholesalers, and major supermarkets. A Key Account Executive serves as the primary business contact for all major retail (supermarket) accounts. This role involves developing key accounts and maintaining long-term relationships, addressing customer requests related to invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation, handling customer inquiries, tracking orders, responding to requests, and coordinating with the logistics and marketing divisions.
Job Requirements:
- Proficient in using EDI systems within supermarkets.
- Prior experience in key account management with leading retail supermarkets.
- Proven experience working with supermarket buyers and strong communication skills is crucial.
- Up-to-date knowledge of consumer behavior within the industry.
- Experience in commercial planning and forecasting.
- Familiarity with product knowledge.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities to resolve client issues or meet their needs.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills for engaging with various clients and departments.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting client data.
- Capable of multitasking and managing time efficiently to handle multiple clients and tasks simultaneously.
- Keen attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Experience in Account Management: 3 years preferred.
- Experience in Sales: 1 year preferred.
- Experience in Commercial & Business Planning/Forecasting: 2 years preferred.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Sales Director by researching potential accounts and generating sales leads for the brand, focusing on securing new listings primarily with retail grocers and expanding into other sales channels like food service and catering.
- Aid the Sales Director in creating product and business presentations to present to major retailer buying teams.
- Identify and cultivate key customer contacts.
- Schedule appointments with supermarket buyers and head office teams.
- Foster strong relationships with clients to retain existing business and attract new customers.
- Manage daily interactions with retail buying teams.
- Provide promotional support for key accounts.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Warehouse, Logistics, and Customers to ensure successful in-store promotions and product availability.
- Deliver monthly and quarterly sales forecasts as agreed upon.
- Offer customer support during new product launches, including new line information, product codes, and samples/mock-ups.
- Address complaints and monitor all processes related to each client account.
- Serve as the client's advocate within the organization to ensure optimal customer service.
- Gather and analyze consumer behavior data to identify trends and changes in client needs.
- Handle administrative tasks for key accounts, such as completing new line forms and updating and reviewing EDI systems.
