We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager role in an IT Services company based in Dallas. The Senior Manager of Portal R&D is crucial in leading the transformation and upkeep of Portal development, working closely with the Product Manager. The main goal of this role is to enhance and optimize the product, ensuring it provides an exceptional, user-friendly experience for our key accounts. This initiative is vital to the company's Connectivity platform, bolstering our technological capabilities and organizational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in software engineering, computer science, information systems, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in Java development, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese and English.
- Proficiency with Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Mybatis, Hibernate, JPA, and other open-source frameworks, including the ability to conduct secondary development.
- Experience with Agile methodology.
- Knowledge of front-end development technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, ReactJS, Node.js, and NPM.
- Familiarity with code version management tools like Git or SVN.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Junit, Easy Mock, or Spock framework.
- Proficiency with code build tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Proven ability to resolve conflicting objectives and create alignment across functional teams.
- Experience in the online travel industry is preferred.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
Planning:
- Support the VP of PaaS Development in formulating the Portal Product development strategy.
- Develop annual and quarterly working plans for the team, ensuring alignment with the PaaS department's direction, plans, and priorities.
Resourcing and Delivery:
- Identify key resources needed to collaborate with the product team and relevant stakeholders using Agile methodologies to ensure timely delivery of product features.
- Adhere to DerbySoft’s technical, quality, and security standards, guiding the engineering team through technical design, code review, unit testing, and automation testing to meet these benchmarks.
- Lead the engineering team in the development and optimization of core technical components, taking charge of emergency issues and ensuring prompt resolution.
- Monitor the progress of key team metrics achievement.
Review and Evaluation:
- Oversee the US engineering team, including recruitment, training, and mentorship, to foster efficient collaboration and goal attainment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members, providing constructive feedback and tailored development plans to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide necessary team coaching and support to drive results.
- Report on self and team performance against plans and progress to the department management team.
Technology Trends Monitoring:
- Stay abreast of technological advancements, ensuring the team remains at the forefront by embracing the latest technologies and best practices.
Cross-team Collaboration:
- Forge close partnerships with other teams, including product management, customer support, and client managers, to align technology with overarching business objectives.
Other:
- Participate in training as assigned by the company.
