We have an exciting opportunity for a Director/ Senior Director of Clinical Development in a US-based Biotechnology Research Company. They seek candidates proficient in Mandarin and capable of effectively conducting weekly calls with sponsors/clients in China. The Director of Clinical Development holds responsibility for leading and supporting client relationships and contributes to the strategic and growth initiatives of the Clinical business unit. 

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's (BS or BA) or Master's (MS or MA) degree is necessary.
  • Minimum experience of 8 years in the industry, with at least 5 years specifically in a Contract Research Organization (CRO).
  • Significant proficiency in clinical research and operational management is essential.
  • Proficiency in both Mandarin and English is mandatory.
  • Skillful in conveying goals, principles, and values to motivate and steer individuals and teams toward achieving objectives.
  • Exhibits a clear grasp of leadership's fiduciary responsibilities, communicates ethical business practices effectively, and ensures accountability for ethical conduct.
  • Demonstrates effective and positive engagement within teams, whether as a team member or leader.
  • Shares information in a constructive, accurate, and efficient manner, naturally keeping others informed.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with a track record of effectively communicating a vision and delivering results.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and listening abilities to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and educational levels.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in management, organization, and interpersonal interaction.
  • Capable of identifying and addressing problems and executing initiatives.

  • Exhibits excellent technical aptitude and proficiency in computer skills. Occasional Travel: Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the formulation of clinical development strategies for clients.
  • Be available for weekly calls with sponsors/clients based in China.
  • Work closely with the Business Development team to explore potential new opportunities.
  • This includes identifying new clients and participating in meetings with potential clients.
  • Take part in planning for and attending industry conferences and scientific gatherings.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and operational leadership on strategy during proposal development and bid defense meetings.
  • This involves contributing to slide development and delivery strategy.
  • Provide input and review proposals and budgets, offering comments and suggested edits as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with client companies, overseeing relationship management, providing clinical strategy support, and, if applicable, leading and presenting clinical development strategies to governing bodies and oversight committees.
  • Coordinate and lead client governance activities as needed.
  • Act as the face to clients, ensuring satisfaction and effective communication of deliverables.
  • Hold responsibility for the financial and operational success of all studies within the assigned portfolio of work.
  • Proactively identify and manage issues at both study and portfolio levels.
  • Contribute to the development of contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support operational excellence by identifying best practices, participating in Project Review Meetings, and making recommendations to senior management.
  • Contribute to and lead internal strategies aimed at fostering new business and client
