We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Associate role in a banking company based in California. They are looking for an experienced Customer Service Associate who is responsible for receiving and paying out funds and keeping records of funds and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions.

Job Requirements:

• A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required. 
• A minimum of three to six months of experience in handling cash.
• An equivalent combination of work experience and education including accounting, balancing, or customer service.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Skills in operating computer terminals and personal computers and familiarity with mainframe computer systems are required. 
• Proficiency in word processing, typing, and spreadsheet software to meet the job's requirements.
• Fundamental math skills including calculation of interest, commissions, 
proportions, and percentages, as well as balance accounts and 
performing basic arithmetic operations.
• Ability to identify common mathematical errors, and work with rates, ratios, and percentages including creating and interpreting bar graphs.
• Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required, along with the capacity to use common sense. 
• A comprehensive understanding of management protocols is required, including the ability to plan departmental or company activities. 
• Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
• Ability to carry out duties without the need for direct supervision is required.
•  A valid driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

 

    Responsibilities

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Receiving checks and cash for deposit, verifying amounts, and examining checks for endorsements.
    • Cash checks and paying out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
    • Entering customers' transactions into a computer to record transactions, and issuing computer-generated receipts.
    • Putting holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
    • May be responsible for ordering a daily supply of cash and counting incoming cash.
    • Balancing currency, coins, and checks in the cash drawer at the end of the shift.
    • Resolving issues and problems with customer's accounts.
    • Removing deposits from automated teller machines and night depository, as well as counting and balancing cash in.
    • Specialised tasks include cashier's checks, personal money orders, and ordering bank cards and checks for customers.
    •  Accepting loan payments.
    •  Explaining and promoting bank products and services to customers.
    •  Recording all transactions promptly, accurately, and in compliance with  bank procedures.
    • Promoting and cross-sells other establishment products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.
    •  Creating new business to help the establishment meet its profit goals.
    • Demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to EEO policy.
    • Following policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time; supporting the company’s goals and values.
