We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Product Development Manager - Health and Beauty -FMCG role in an Oxfordshire-based Manufacturing company. The company has a reputation for creating licensed products that are award-winning, innovative, well-designed, and attractive. It is a market leader in the Health & Beauty industry. They are looking for a Junior Product Development Manager to work on Health & Beauty and FMCG consumer goods.

Job Requirements:

A recent background in the development and sourcing of FMCG consumer goods, ideally in the Health & Beauty industry, is required.
Outstanding negotiating skills.
Energetic and enthusiastic about the industry.
Excellent attention to detail when carrying out tasks, ability to foresee and manage issues, and capacity to prioritize and escalate needs.
Strong communication skills are a must, for daily communication with suppliers, test facilities, licensees, and internal divisions.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to create and use specialized spreadsheets in MS Excel and, ideally, Sage.
Experience with Chinese purchasing and product development would be advantageous.
Inventive and imaginative mindset.
The ability to communicate in Chinese is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

Daily communication with suppliers to oversee the critical path of product development and assist in the resolution of issues.
Briefing vendors on new product development and negotiating commercially viable cost prices.
Supporting the approval of new samples by examining their quality, appearance, print, color, and formula upon arrival at the office, comparing them to the artwork to ensure that they are suitable for the market, and providing feedback to suppliers regarding the products.
Update the company about trends, competing products, inspiration, and useful product recommendations that take into account retailers and target customers.
Assisting in sample management within the office and ensuring that retailers and license holders receive the samples required to satisfy their needs.
Providing administrative support to the product development manager as required.
