We have an exciting opportunity for an Application Claims Analyst role San Francisco-based community health center. This nonprofit community health center provides a range of patients, the majority of whom are uninsured or low-income, with comprehensive, linguistically competent, and culturally sensitive healthcare services. The Application Claim Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the Epic Professional Billing product is deployed, managed, and utilized in a successful and effective way.  

Job Requirements:

  • A 4-year degree from a recognized institution is required, but 4+ years of appropriate work experience can be substituted. 
  • A master's degree is preferable.
  • At least 2-4 years of expertise supporting applications in a clinical setting, ideally billing applications.
  • 1+ year of training and support experience, including writing training and guidebooks.
  • It is necessary to have Epic accreditation in professional billing or to be willing to get it within 6 months of joining.
  • An understanding of the FQHC claims framework is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel pivot tables, Visio process diagrams, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as the ability to evaluate complex billing scenarios and develop effective solutions.
  • Must be able to communicate, read, and write in English fluently.
  • Chinese fluency (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is desirable.
  • Fluency in another language is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use Epic to support setups and system configurations.
  • FQHC-compliant professional billing product.
  • Identification and implementation of requested system changes, as well as complex trouble ticket resolution with vendor tech support.
  • Directing the development and testing of the system, designing workflows, and examining other technical problems with the Epic software.
  • Attending site visits and other integrated sessions to gain an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for organizational workflows.
  • Supporting and overseeing the process of continuous quality improvement, which includes troubleshooting programs and answering questions.
  • Find and address quality issues systematically.
  • Be in charge of workflow, training, and/or system configuration improvements during design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Analyzing, evaluating, and recommending upgrades to the system's functionality.
  • In addition to periodically assessing the status of projects and issues, leadership and also provide project management, coordination, and management as needed.
  • Act as a go-between for end users, third parties, and Epic representatives.
  • Producing and maintaining documentation, such as internal procedure manuals and end-user paperwork.
  • Aid in employee training and mentors junior staff members.
  • Other job responsibilities as directed by manager or supervisor.
