We have an exciting opportunity for a Bilingual Resource & Referral Specialist role in a San Francisco-based Non-profit Organization. The organization offers a variety of free programs and workshops to home-based childcare businesses, as well as assistance to parents and carers in developing child development skills. The Resource & Referral Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for numerous families in the childcare services to assist families with access to high-quality childcare, guiding them in understanding their childcare alternatives and how to access financial support.
Job Requirements:
- Basic understanding of child development or childcare services.
- Bilingual proficiency in both spoken and written English/Cantonese is essential.
- 2 years minimum of professional experience, ideally in the social services sector.
- Capability to provide responsive one-to-one client support.
- Capable of communicating complex processes in simple terms.
- Passion for assisting families from various backgrounds in obtaining quality childcare that fulfills their requirements.
- Background clearance is needed.
- The ability to remain stationary for a long duration of time is required.
- The ability to move around the office, access files, meet with clients, and travel freely is required.
- Requires mental clarity to carry out the listed essential tasks accurately and on time.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Working one-on-one with families to offer education on selecting high-quality childcare, childcare referrals, help with the application process for financial aid and being adaptive to families via follow-up support.
- Connects families with additional services.
- Takes part in administrative tasks such as call center work, co-location at various locations, and regular rotation.
- As required, offers front desk backup support.
- Systematically evaluates ways to enhance services while tracking family outcomes.
- Shares knowledge with peers across the organization, as well as assists and learns from them, to gain greater insight into services.
- Additional tasks as needed, such as personal assignments (managing in-print materials, providing translation support, etc.).
