We have an exciting opportunity for an International Trader (China) role in a Food and Beverage Services company based in Atlanta. It is a global leader in the production of frozen and chilled food items, selling meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, and fruits in more than a hundred nations across different continents. They are looking for an experienced sales professional who will be responsible for generating profitable sales to Chinese customers. The ideal applicant should be enthusiastic about sales, fluent in Mandarin, naturally curious, quick to pick up new skills, able to forge strong connections, and thrilled by the prospect of working in a multicultural setting.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess a bachelor's degree or comparable experience. Encouraged to apply: recent graduates.
  • Fluently communicate in English and Mandarin.
  • It is preferable to have 1-2 years of sales or international sales experience.
  • A dynamic relationship builder who is driven to achieve business results.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and capable of multitasking.
  • Self-motivated and quick to pick things up.
  • Adaptable and imaginative.
  • Tenacity and perseverance.
  • Outstanding communicator and team player.
  • Capable of setting and meeting sales targets.
  • Inquisitive about international trade and trends.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage in daily conversation with multilingual people from around the world.
  • Make regular phone calls to customers to generate profitable sales of frozen food products like pork, beef, and poultry.
  • Maintain constant phone contact with customers to develop long-term relationships.
  • Reach or exceed clearly defined sales metrics and goals by selling core products and generating new business efficiently.
  • Accountable for managing inventory while maintaining gross profit and tonnage for a designated account base.
  • Assist the team in increasing market share and diversifying the products and origins sold.
  • Maintain existing and develop customer accounts primarily via phone and email.
  • Travel to the destination country to visit clients or attend trade shows 15% of the time or less.
  • Develop connections with the departments of operations, purchasing, credit, and others on the inside, as well as with partners and suppliers on the outside.
  • Give the operations team data to assist with transportation planning so they can meet deadlines for shipments and cut costs.
