We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Buyer role in a Wholesale company based in California. The business built a name for itself as a pioneering, diversified company by specializing in the marketing, importing, and distribution of gourmet goods, beverages, nutritional supplements, naturally derived OTC topical analgesics, herbal supplements, and teas, as well as the formulation, packaging, and private labeling of products. They are seeking to hire a bi-lingual person to fill this role.
Job Requirements:
- Preferably with a degree in business, economics, marketing, or a related subject.
- Previous merchandising or retail experience is preferred.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and negotiating abilities.
- Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
- Capability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of merchandising software systems is advantageous.
- Excellent computer abilities (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
- Bilingual in English and Chinese.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting buyers in selecting the appropriate product mix.
- Purchase orders must be written, placed, and tracked.
- Ensure that products are purchased at the appropriate time, according to specifications, and at a reasonable price.
- Negotiating with suppliers and establishing fruitful, lasting relationships.
- Identifying new suppliers and recommending them to the buyer.
- Inventory levels should be planned for, monitored, and maintained.
- Budgeting and forecasting purchasing trends.
- Putting together statistics and performance reports for products.
