We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant role in a Book and Periodical Publishing
company based in London. It is a multi-award-winning video channel that airs the finest in global culture and arts in the categories of art, design, fashion, beauty, music, food, travel, and culture. They are seeking an experienced person to fill this position.
Job Requirements:
- It is necessary to be able to operate in a hands-on and proactive manner.
- Communicates clearly and succinctly.
- 3 years or more of experience in accounting.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Chinese is desirable but not required.
- Prior working knowledge of Sage systems and software.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Send all sales invoices to customers or staff members.
- Verify all supporting documentation and ask for disbursements to prepare payments.
- Assist with audit tasks and communicate with auditors in collaboration with the FC.
- Examine and compare the bank and other balance sheets.
- Create a VAT return and ensure VAT compliance.
- Examine the payroll each month, then post Payroll Journal Entries to Sage.
- Prepare and send in your pension contributions.
- Accountable for Sage's bookkeeping.
- Update and enhance control systems like the Commissions Sheet, Supplier Sheet, and Customer Invoice Sheet.
- Handle ad hoc client and supplier inquiries, as well as staff and FC inquiries.
