We have an exciting opportunity for a Marine and Transport Claims Handler role in a London-based Insurance company. The firm offers highly specialised and impartial help in all elements of maritime, air, and inland transportation cargo disputes. The company is actively looking for Mandarin or Chinese-speaking experienced candidates to fill this role. This job has a six-month probationary term.
Job Requirements:
- A Level or equivalent qualification is required.
- A Minimum of 2 years of claims processing experience in the insurance or marine and transport fields is required.
- Demonstrated ability to write reports for insurers or other similar.
- The applicant will have an analytical mind and solid logical reasoning skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and excellent with numbers.
- Possess excellent written English.
- Excel and Word skills are required.
- Applicants must have the necessary legal authorization to work in the UK.
- Strong written and spoken ability in Chinese or Mandarin is preferred.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility will be cargo claims management, including proactively processing claim files from first advise to settlements and follow-up with underwriters for settlement and payments.
- Providing surveyors with instructions.
- Ascertaining that all paperwork is properly collected.
- Examining survey results.
- Reviewing the terms and circumstances of cargo insurance policies to verify that coverage is appropriately estimated.
- Assessing and amending claims that have been assigned to you.
- Generating narrative reports and bills for insurers, along with policy responsibility advice.
- Pursue subrogated claims (also known as recoveries) on eligible third parties.
- Assistance with different forms of maritime and transport claims, including casualty situations such as Lloyds Open Form Salvage and General Average.
- There will also be some office administration and data entry duties.
