We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller role in an Investment Management company headquartered in New York. It is a financial corporation that specialises in derivatives trading, wealth management, venture funding, and cryptocurrency mining. It is looking for an individual with extensive experience in a similar role in fintech/crypto industry.
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- 5 years of industry experience in a fintech/crypto setting, with start-up experience being a must.
- Experienced financial expert who is willing to roll up his or her sleeves and get the job done, even if it means meeting very basic standards.
- Self-starter who can deal with uncertainty while also knowing how to overcome difficulties and problems.
- Maintain awareness of evolving bitcoin tax legislation and make necessary adjustments to internal processes and procedures to reduce risk and assure compliance.
- Strong organisational and stress-reduction abilities.
- Due to interface obligations with HQ/other offices in Asia, being conversant in Mandarin is a bonus.

Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with the opening of a bank account at our London office, ensuring that all due diligence has been completed.
- Execute month-end closure processes, including but not limited to journal entry preparation, account analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliation as needed.
- Prepare audit schedules and balance sheet fluctuations.
- Assist with internal control system and accounting practices and systems.
- Assist management and other departments in ensuring that complicated transactions are properly accounted for.
- As needed, do ad hoc work.
