We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer role in a Licensed Merchandising company. The company makes, sources, and supplies licensed items for cinema, home entertainment, music, and interactive gaming titles, as well as a limitless selection of corporate presents at affordable pricing and the finest quality of service. This is a critical position that oversees many parts of the purchasing process and its management. And will be actively involved with all levels of the team, as well as suppliers and clients.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
- It's crucial to be able to communicate in Chinese.
- IT savvy, with a strong understanding of Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, as well as the ability to establish relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
- A team worker who has exceptional organisational abilities and a keen eye for detail.
- Business-savvy.
- Prior product buying or merchandising/procurement expertise is desired.
- A strong interest in consumer/promotional items, and also quality control and ethical sourcing from UK, EU, and the Far East vendors.
- A thorough grasp of testing procedures is necessary, particularly for toys.
- Education at the graduate or higher.
- It is necessary to have a vehicle to get to work.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- The junior buyer will collaborate with an experienced Procurement team and the Sales Director.
- Dealing with product development from idea to delivery alongside the design and sales departments.
- Assisting with client presentations.
- Provide complete buying administration assistance.
- Maintain an up-to-date database with all price and product information.
- Keep an up-to-date database of vendor contact information, including any specific needs.
- Assisting in the management of an existing supplier base while also bringing on new supply lines.
- Negotiating costs and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Preparation of comprehensive product functionality, quality standards, and purchase orders.
- Keep track of the project's development and resolve any concerns that arise.
- Liaison with all departments to produce progress reports to management and ensure that projects are completed on time.
