We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer role in a London based internet company. It is a technological e-comm firm that acquires, manage and expands small and mid-sized companies on international marketplaces with category-winning items. In this role, you'll conduct research, select, and acquire high-quality items and materials; cultivate connections with vendors and negotiate the best value; process requisitions; and keep supply chain colleagues informed about the order status.
Job Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree or higher.
• Experience in EU/US compliance would be advantageous.
• Prior consumer items and retail purchasing knowledge (hard goods and experience in the kids/baby sectror).
• Possess strong multi-tasking talents and a solution-oriented mentality.
• Self-sufficient, able to operate in a fast-paced workplace, and well-organized.
• Excel proficiency is required.
• Working knowledge of the GSuite office and Oracle Netsuite.
• Possess a strong grasp of verbal and literal English.
• Mandarin skills, both verbal and written, are a plus.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
• Aid in the search for competent suppliers in a variety of fields.
• Negotiate with merchants to fulfil the budget and quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with the quality assurance team to verify that all goods adhere to international requirements.
• PO and buying contracts are placed and progressed.
• Utilizing the procurement platform, communicate with suppliers to guarantee orders are raised and fulfilled according to specifications.
• Work directly with co-workers in the supply chain and vendors that all delivery dates are fulfilled and stock-outs are avoided.
• Guarantee that deadlines are reached, keep track of critical production benchmarks.
• Updating and maintaining our vendor management software is a must.
• Maintain excellent business connections with vendors/factories to guarantee continual supplier development, which includes correcting poor performance concerns.
• Organize samples, analyse them, create reports, and submit the samples for final approval.
• Maintain close contact with the branding team to make sure that all artwork is current.
• Establish open lines of communication both inside the team and between departments.
• As required, execute other ad hoc tasks.
