We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper role with a London-based logistics and supply chain business. The company offers international trade customs clearing services from all other UK locations, as well as FBA fulfilment, logistics services, and product sourcing to consumers. The organisation is presently searching for a Mandarin speaker with Xero experience to join its New Malden team.
Job Requirements:
- Very well-organized, with a good eye for detail.
- Excellent grasp of Excel (including pivotable and VLOOKUP functions), Word, email, and the internet.
- Excellent understanding of accounting procedures.
- Good undestanding of Xero.
- Either necessary financial qualifications (AAT / Accounting Degree with at least a 2:1, for example), or ACCA training or experience qualification.
- Experience in freight forwarding is preferred.
- Mandarin Chinese proficiency is preferred.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Accounting operations such as purchase-sales ledger administration, payment to local and foreign partners, and inter-company reconcilin.
- Liaison with HMRC, as well as general office administration.
- Routine duties include, but are not limited to Inputting proper supplier invoices and selecting relevant accounting codes on the Xero system.
- Regular bank reconciliations.
- Management of General Ledger for all Freight Contracts, including month-end closeout.
- Ensure that supplier provisions/invoices are processed and paid in a timely and correct way while being cost-effective.
- Handling phone calls from both internal and external sources.
- Photocopying, filling, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Responding to consumer inquiries via email and WeChat.
- Developing strong ties with internal and external stakeholders to achieve best practices.
- Check that the VAT rate has been accurately posted.
- Providing suitable insights and suggestions to impact critical business choices and growth.
