We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Litigation Paralegal role in a London based litigation law firm. It is a fast-developing business that is well-known for assisting with difficult and significant litigation both in the UK and worldwide. The firm is seeking a Mandarin-speaking commercial litigation paralegal to join the firm's commercial litigation and dispute settlement team, which handles a wide variety of business litigation, particularly consulting on professional negligence, contract violations, and large-scale debt issues, advising both complainants and defendants. The position is accessible right away.
Job Requirements:
• Complete proficiency in Chinese (read and type) as well as English proficiency.
• The ideal applicant will have considerable expertise working on both claimants and respondent breach of contract, debt collection, and professional negligence cases.
• Strong procedural expertise, as well as a working understanding of the law in certain, practise areas, are required.
• LPC passed is a must and, preferably, an advanced litigation elective.
• Aspiration, a "can-do" mentality, and a warm personality are essential, as is a willingness to learn and interact with new areas of law in a friendly and collegial setting.
• A minimum of 1 year's expertise in commercial litigation.
• Must be meticulous, verifiable experience working in the high-pressure arena of international corporate litigation, and the ability to remain confident and cool under pressure.
• Enthusiastic, enterprising, and eager to grow with the company in the long run.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
• Examining and summarising papers and evidence as part of a client case or for a prospective client.
• Drawing up letters, notices and records under guidance.
• Attending to clients and taking directions.
• Managing all new customer inquiries for the team.
• Conducting legal research.
• Organizing the electronic or hard-copy filing and distribution of paperwork.
• Fee-earning jobs under guidance, involving client attendance to gather evidence, guidelines and assessing records.
• Taking notes during meetings and hearings.
• Counsel liaison and reporting.
• Providing administrative assistance, such as diary management, packaging, scanning, and other team-required tasks.
