We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Controller role for a Crawley-based Oil and Gas company. The firm finds, procures, and supplies a varied range of items across a variety of sectors to satisfy the demands of its clients. The company is seeking to hire a qualified and experienced Credit Controller to assist the routine financial activities.

Job Requirements:

  • GCSE qualified that contain a pass in Mathematics at a C grade or above.
  • International credit control knowledge.
  • Credit control work exposure in a commercial setting or dealing with troublesome clients to collect money to settle delinquent bills.
  • Understanding of INCO.
  • 3 years of accounting expertise (preferred).
  • Bilingual with proficiency in Chinese.
  • Computer literate with extensive understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Outstanding numeracy, verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent phone manner.
  • Capable of establishing excellent working connections with coworkers and customers.
  • A problem-solving technique that is centred on the consumer.
  • A proactive yet professional attitude to credit control, as well as the ability to address the difficulties and concerns of others in a courteous manner.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of interpreting and analysing financial data.
  • Understanding of the Sage System.
  • A prior position in a SME's finance department.
  • Application knowledge of financial and non-financial software applications.
  • Working understanding of month-end reporting and processes.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that client bills are paid on time and according to the credit conditions that have been agreed upon.
  • Proactively address past-due accounts, as well as identify and resolve issues that may be impeding account settlement.
  • Ensure that appropriate records are kept promptly and that they are adequate to meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers and coworkers, responding to inquiries and requests in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Day-to-day credit supervision of overseas consumers, with a focus on reducing delinquent accounts and debt.
  • To guarantee account settlement, communicate with clients throughout the credit control process using the most effective form of contact (including phone calls).
  • Check credit references and keep an eye on credit limitations imposed by the Financial Controller or the CEO.
  • Interacting with customers through phone or in person.
  • Credit references are being checked, and account credit limits are being adjusted.
  • Work on a computerised management information system.
  • Accounts are settled by processing customer payments.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure that they are settled on time and within the agreed-upon credit conditions.
  • Determine and take proactive measures to minimise or reduce late payments and arrears.
  • Ensure that your records, credit histories, and collection schedules are up to date.
  • Identify, respond to, and address consumer inquiries in a timely way, and collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues that are impeding settlement.
  • As needed, report and escalate concerns to the Financial Controller.
  • Draft letters, emails, and other materials as needed and ensure they are submitted in accordance with internal filing rules.
  • As needed, assist with financial reporting and give monthly management data to the Financial Controller.
  • During slower periods, assist with purchase ledger entries.
  • Always represent the department and the organisation professionally.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities that may arise from time to time, appropriate with the level of the function.
