We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager role in a Maritime company based in Wallsend. The company is one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of remotely controlled and autonomous subsea power and control solutions. The Senior Project Manager will work as a part of the operations team overseeing both Shanghai and UK projects.
Job Requirements:
- Have a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, as well as extensive experience in a senior project management job.
- Experience specifically in Project management in capital equipment industries is required.
- MS Project and Microsoft Office Tool proficiency are required.
- Customer-focused, adaptable, and diligent, with good verbal and written communication abilities.
- Team player, self-motivated, with expertise dealing with challenging and stressful situations, as well as a desire to learn and develop within your job.
- The ability to communicate in Chinese is advantageous but not required.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Use project management skills and procedures to guarantee that projects are completed successfully.
- Responsible for UK commercial delivery contracts (global contracts), as well as supporting Shanghai projects, project work teams, and development.
- Delivering projects on schedule while maintaining the best margins and quality levels feasible.
- Ensure that client criterion are satisfied as much as feasible and contribute to the continual improvement of the project management process for contracts with Shanghai customers and delivery of UK intercompany contracts.
- Coordination of help from the UK team for Shanghai, tracking and ensuring support is delivered and paid.
- Coordination of necessary audits and training in the United Kingdom.
- Provide monthly project progress updates to the senior management team, as well as implementation improvements for all project activities.
- Overseeing the compilation of client documentation packages and driving customer needs via specification compliances.
- Assisting customers and supporting the post-delivery warranty term while working with the customer support team to ensure on-time delivery of the contract vs. milestones.
- In the sales stage, reviewing the work divide between the UK and Shanghai while engaging with the commercial team on any needed intercompany contracts.
- Working with all internal departments in the UK and Shanghai to ensure projects are completed on schedule, in compliance with import/export regulations, and at the lowest possible cost.
- Travel to customer meetings, visits to suppliers, and assistance with both onshore and offshore installations, including sea trials, are all required (individual trips could vary from 3-6 weeks excluding quarantine periods).
