We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Legal Cashier role in a Law Practice firm based in London. The globally recognised commercial law company caters to both corporate and individual clients with its tailored services by experts. The primary goal of this position will be to assist the financial controller.
Job Requirements:
- Excel and Word skills are essential.
- System-driven.
- Excellent organisational skills as well as a sharp eye for detail.
- Flexibility in dealing with large numbers and short deadlines.
- Excellent knowledge of the Solicitors Accounting Rules (SARs) and VAT Rules.
- Understanding of AML regulations.
- Experience with the Proclaim case management system is preferred.
- Understanding of BACS, CHAPS, and Natwest Banking System (preferred).
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor client accounts, verify cash received, and notify the appropriate fee earners.
- Bank reconciliation occurs every day.
- Reconciliations of client and office bank accounts on a daily basis.
- Daily control balance to guarantee that all transactions and posts from the previous day are completed in accordance with firm policy and SARs.
- Using the Natwest Banking System to process BACS, CHAPS, Faster, and International Payments.
- Uploading all incoming and outgoing transactions to the Proclaim/Eclipse system (Training can be given for Proclaim system).
- Receipts and payments from the office must be identified and assigned.
- Account transfers from the client to the office.
- Preparing a list of debtors for distribution to fee earners.
- Taking care of bills.
- Assisting with a variety of initiatives such as inactive matters, residual balances, and file storage.
- Keeping an orderly electronic file system.
- Resolving account-related issues.
- Assisting fee earners with their ledger balances.
