We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Engineer role in a Shanghai-based Automotive company. The firm was created to become a worldwide electric vehicle corporation with world-class R&D, design, and production facilities in over 20 countries. Along with Vehicle Engineering, the primary responsibilities for this post will be the creation and administration of vehicle environmental performance, extended to forbidden chemicals, VIAQ, carbon emissions and so on.
Job Requirements:
• Language ability Native English, ideally Chinese
• Computer competency with MS Office, MS Project, and so on
• A master's degree or higher is required, with a major in Materials, Engineering, or other related sciences, as well as a focus on sustainability and energy:
- Master in ELV/RRR, REACH, PoPs etc.
- Master in CAMDS/IMDS and the process
- Mastery of LCA approach, including ISO, PAS, and tools like as GaBi/Simapro
• 5 + years of work exposure is desired, preferably at an automotive OEM.
• Common product sustainability ideas and trends are well-understood
• Have genuine LCA experience on three or more models
• Familiarity with the VDA test procedure for vehicle indoor air quality
• Good written, analytical, and presenting abilities, as well as interaction skills
• Basic understanding of car engineering, manufacturing processes, and so forth.
Additional Requirements:
- The organisation reports to the UK advanced vehicle engineering team and collaborates with the SH global environmental team on a regular basis.
- Since the EU is currently working on UNECE standards, the effort in the EU may cover the entire world.
- Accept foreign travel as necessary, inside the EU, the EU/SH, or internationally if required.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee worldwide environmental regulatory needs, particularly those imposed by the EU
• Transform regulatory requirements into technical language and send to parts owner in collaboration with the China team
• Determine the most important European regulations or market requirements/trends affecting product carbon footprint/LCA
• Determine the probable actions that may be required on the company car products under these regulations
• Seeking innovative environmental and sustainable application opportunities on smart electric cars
• Develop relationships with the environmental agencies of EU member states and learn about any particular environmental requirements that may exist at the local country/state member level
• Determine the distinctions between directional and regulatory operations in each member state
• Determine the environmental compliance procedure and, if necessary, transmit it to the local operating team
• Communicate with Europe marketing and clients on environmental issues, including interpreting requests, complaints, and explaining the development reasoning, if applicable
• Participate in organisational reporting to the UK advanced vehicle engineering team, and interact regularly with the SH global ecological team
• Take foreign travel as necessary, whether inside the EU, the EU/SH, or beyond
