We have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Analyst -Trading Officer role in a London based Logistics and Supply Chain company. With a worldwide network of suppliers, the company specialises in delivering Raw Materials and Machinery to suit the demands of manufacturing enterprises for trade, marketing, logistical, finance, and post-sales support. The company is seeking for professionals to work closely with designated operational support workers outside of the Trading Department. The company accepts PSW.
Job Requirements:
- Prior experience in the trading/import/export business of plastics/rubber for at least 4-5 years is required.
- Expertise in procurement, particularly with Chinese vendors, is desired.
- Degree-level education.
- Preferably, understanding shipping procedures, paperwork, and letters of credit.
- Strong written and oral Mandarin language skills are required.
- Being structured and diligent, with a demonstrated capacity to produce leads through a variety of channels and on own initiative.
- IT literate.
- Strong work ethic, as well as assuming accountability and responsibility for the job.
- Very good organisational abilities, ability to operate under pressure and pay close attention to detail.
- Owing to the time difference, able to work beyond UK office hours to interact with Asian vendors.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain relationships with current vendors while developing new suppliers for identical and new products, with a focus on the Chinese supply market.
- Visit customers and vendors regularly (subject to travel constraints) and report to the line manager.
- Contract administration on the SAP system including creating sales and purchase orders, proforma invoices, keeping a client database, and creating shipping summary spreadsheets.
- Report to the line manager on a regular and organised basis on developments in the marketplace, including rival activity and supplier issues.
- Close collaboration is required to guarantee that opinions and compliance demands are appropriately fulfilled and reflected.
- Produce monthly performance report that include information on company growth opportunities, existing inquiries, and other pertinent information.
- Take an active part in the resolution of disputes and the minimization of any claims that may emerge from time to time.
- Facilitate arrangements through shipping and ultimate out-turn to guarantee obligations are sealed.
- Work closely with the local branches, Transportation, Documentary, and Accounts teams to ensure that everyone knows what is expected of them and that everyone works together to meet the Company's ultimate goals.
- Develop knowledge and experience in key geographies and goods so that the organisation may provide educated and accurate marketing information.
- Explore business in related items wherever it may be found inside the Divisional remit.
- Participated actively in risk analysis and key account selection.
- Contribute accurate and timely intelligence to the Division's databases.
- Engage in the Division's ongoing learning and information technology upgrades.
- Share facts and statistics with the line manager, and reach an agreement on a shared approach for comparable items within the department.
